Support groups are held for caregivers of people with Alzheimer's Disease, other dementias, and any other illness your loved one is facing. These groups provide vital links to other caregivers and an opportunity to learn more about Alzheimer's disease and other illnesses. Members of a support group usually share their personal experiences and offer one another emotional comfort and moral support. Memory Cafe

The Brent Senior Center, Morning Point Senior Living and New Beacon Hospice will be hosting a Memory Cafe on Tuesday, September 19th at 6 pm.  This will be a support group for caregivers of those dealing with memory issues and/or those dealing with memory issues.  This will be a monthly support group meeting held on the 3rd Tuesday night of each month.  This is open to the public and free of charge.  Refreshments will be served.

The Brent Senior Center, Bibb County Extension Service, The Woodlands @ Tannehill, First US Bank and the Brent Police Department will be hosting this event.

Each day there will be a discussion on a safety topic directly related to Senior Adults.

This event is FREE and open to the public.

It will start each day at 10 am.

  • Tuesday - Senior Scams (Janette McConnell/Woodlands @ Tannehill)
  • Wednesday - Bank Safety (Roberta Lawrence/First US Bank)

Senior Center Open House & Special Chamber Coffee!

The Brent/Centreville Senior Center invites everyone to the Senior Center to learn about this hidden gem in our community. The senior adults at the Center will tell about all the "latest happenings" at the Center. They will be glad to give you a tour of the building which is also a designated tornado shelter for the area. This is a special chamber coffee held each May in conjunction with Older American's Month. Chamber members are invited to introduce themselves and tell about any upcoming events or promotions they may be participating in. There will be a continental breakfast provided.
