Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC)

The goal of the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is to empower individuals to effectively learn about and make informed decisions regarding their long-term support options. A joint effort of the Administration on Aging (AOA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the ADRC serves as a highly visible and trusted place in communities throughout the country where individuals of all ages, disabilities, and incomes, can get information on the full range of long-term support options. The centers use a person-centered, community-based approach that promotes independence and dignity for individuals; provides easy access to information to assist consumers; and provides resources and services that support the needs of family caregivers.

  • Assisting individuals 60 and older, adults with disabilities, their families and caregivers

  • Provide information, referrals and assistance on local, state and federal programs

  • Provide options counseling for planning long-term services and supports

  • Conduct in-depth screening to determine eligibility for available programs and services

  • Provide outreach across the West Alabama region
